You’ve decided you’d like to do French immersion homeschooling, but where do you begin? On this page I will list you for the few resources I know of for homeschooling in French. Compared to the English language, there are a lot less options.
Please note that none of these curriculums are accredited nor do they offer any sort of certificate or diploma.
Full Curriculums:
Nos Jours Dorés: this is a complete Charlotte Mason-inspired curriculum in French from Kindergarten up to grade 9. It has math, science, literature, history, geography, art, composer study, artist study, Plutarch, and grammar. You would need to add in your own resources for Bible, catechism, and Latin. I also noticed while looking through the website that it uses H.E. Marshall’s history of England, which, just to warn you, is anti-Catholic in sections. Nos Jours Dorés also gives the option of buying some of the subjects separately, if, for example, you only need a science curriculum. The author of this curriculum is also the founder of Charlotte Mason France.
Admire et fais tiennes: this is another Charlotte Mason-inspired curriculum from France that goes from Kindergarten up to grade 5. It has français, history, geography, science, poetry, literature, art, and vie spirituelle. It does not appear to have a math component. You can also purchase individual subjects.
Leçons dans mon salon: this is a Quebec-based online program meant to take the pressure off of homeschooling parents. The program comprises French, Science, Math, and Social Studies, and follows the same curriculum used in Quebec public schools. It covers grades 1 to 6. Anyone in the world can sign up, but it is designed for students who have French as their first language.
L’envie d’apprendre: this is based in France, and follows the unit study method. It is a complete curriculum that goes from kindergarten to grade 9. It seems that you choose 3 units to study over the course of one academic year, and everything the child learns will relate to those themes. One thing I really like about this website is that it contains a large amount of information about the curriculum, including an impressive foire aux questions. Everything is sent electronically and you can choose what you wish to print.
